Organ to Nurture in Spring:

Liver & Gallbladder. 

Liver is the main organ of detoxification – it is time to spring clean your eating and cut down on intake of fats, oils, junk food, salt and alcohol. Include bitter foods, cruciferous vegetables – like broccoli and cabbage – and drink lots of filtered water.

Emotions to Be Aware of:

Emotions related to the liver are Anger, Resentment, Iriitability, Frustration, Impatience, Depression & Indecisiveness. If you catch yourself feeling these, make sure you give your liver a little T.L.C.

Common Symptoms in Spring:

Digestive complaints – such as nausea or indigestion. Allergies involving the eyes or skin. Neck and back tension. Fingernail or Toenail issues. Reproductive Issues.

Poor digestion may lead to fatigue. This paired with muscle tension may make it extra difficult to get moving in the morning 😉

Flavour of Foods Required:

SOUR – will stimulate gallbladder and liver. Think CITRUS – squeeze lemon juice on your salads or veggies. Use orange juice in a marinade. Or- especially if digestion is an issue – try a cup of warm water with juice of half a lemon squeezed in, drunk 1/2 an hour before breakfast and dinner. 

BITTER – Watercress, Rocket, Rye
